Swing into Spring

( We're sorry but it's turning out to be a stay-at-home Spring)

Looking forward to leaving home in broad daylight for our weekly jazz fix and knowing that we have some of the best bands available waiting to entertain us.
Matt Palmer's EAGLE Jazz Bandstrikes up the music for March and guarantee an evening  heavily laced with stylish solos, jazzy vocals and good humour.
Matt is not only one of SCTJC's most regular visitors but one of the younger ones too, in his early 40s and a truly serious professional  musician with his saxophone/clarinet performances around the country.
As his website illustrates he has a lively vintage and varied  jazz scene going in his native Nottingham where, in addition to his widespread playing commitments he has also embarked on a career as a teacher of the woodwind and brass instruments to school children.
A week later it's Denmark's Doc Houlind on one of their regular UK tours  spreading what they regard as genuine trad, revivalist jazz and with a programme of  memories to prove it.
Then comes New Orleans Heat who were with us as recently as our Xmas party night, December 18. Helped by the festive occasion they ended our year with the highest attendance of around 130.
March ends in the capable, and dextrous hands of Baby Jools and his Jazzaholics.

all Wednesday Night jazz after that is cancelled for further notice to comply with government advice.
